In design and construction, the 4th dimension represents schedule projection and tracking of progress on construction through time. PB brings the capability to develop and maintain a 3D/4D computer model of a project that dynamically links all Project Schedule elements to the project model. This allows us to instantly and visually communicate the design and construction of the project in addition to visualizing constructability reviews, discrepancies, and even potential changes that may occur. We utilize software to manage this model utilizing data coming from the Design team, the client, and other subs in conjunction PB’s Project Controls system. This capability provides the following benefits to the project:
Better communication and coordination with all project participants.
Early identification of problems before they become costly field errors / changes.
See when and where activities are supposed to happen and who will be working.
Visually delineate and track work packages at the Project or Task level.
Provide a more accurate analysis of the impact of potential changes and the development of work around solutions.
Compare alternative schedule/build sequences visually for “what-if” scenarios.
Compare planned versus actual models to visually see where discrepancies exist during construction.
Include cost and resource information to visually identify and forecast when and where costs are occurring.
Visually analyze and communicate work staging areas, site logistics, safety, and operations.
