Issue 53. 3rd quarter '02. UK Railtrack
Improvement Program
PB is helping Railtrack, PLC (the owner and operator of the UK's
32,000-kilometer (20,000-mile) rail infrastructure network) keep
its massive rail network modernization program on track. PB is playing
a major role in program management of rehabilitation of the West
Coast Main Line, an upgrade of the signal system and other projects.
(See PB Bulletin, March 2000.) Many disciplines are involved in
this work, and PB Network will feature the gamut.

Issue 54. 4th quarter '02. Aviation
and Airports
PB's aviation and airports capabilities and experience have taken
off dramatically in the past few years. PB is involved in a whole
range of aspects of aviation projects around the world, including
master planning, financial and economic planning, environmental
and noise control studies, transportation analyses, public coordination
programming, civil and facility design, construction management,
program management, concession planning, tenant lease negotiations,
privatization, and many other services. To be co-sponsored by the

Issue 55. 1st quarter '03. I-95 New Haven
Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program
PB is program manager on the US Interstate Highway Route I-95 New
Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program in Connecticut.
PB has contributed to many aspects of the overall work on this 11
km corridor. This project provides a great example of the multidisciplinary
nature of PB's work, including topics such as architecture and aesthetics,
bridge design, alternatives to accommodate waterfront redevelopment,
seismic analyses, incident management, value engineering, program
management, and construction staging.

Issue 56. Projects in Australia and
New Zealand
PB has approximately 600 employees in Australia and 100 in New Zealand.
Our capabilities include power, renewable energy, transport, environment,
water, and a range of engineering and infrastructure services. We
