Building a seamless new transportation network for metropolitan Cincinnati

Public involvement kept motorists informed and the city open for business
From analysis to construction in a "fast-track" program

The Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana Council of Governments retained PB to conduct a major investment study of Fort Washington Way improvements. Then the City of Cincinnati chose PB to lead the team providing program management, preliminary engineering and construction management services for the $313 million reconfiguration. To support successful completion, PB provided a full array of services including:

  • Highway engineering services
  • Environmental services
  • Urban design services
  • Transportation planning services
  • Construction management services
  • Financial/economic consulting services
  • Public involvement services

We also provided:

  • Final design
  • Preliminary engineering/draft environmental impact statement (PE/DEIS)

  • Busway and light rail transit planning

In 2001, the project won a Construction Management Association of America Project Achievement Award.
