A Long, Successful Partnership

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) transit system is one of the largest public works projects in the southeastern United States. It encompasses 96.6 kilometers (60 miles) of rapid transit lines, a 6-kilometer (3.7-mile) express busway corridor, 45 metro rail stations and park-n-ride facilities accommodating more than 33,000 automobiles. MARTA's bus service includes operation of 432 peak hour buses over 120 routes traveling more than 25 million miles annually. An average of 400,000 passengers board MARTA buses and rail every weekday.
For more than 40 years, PB, as the lead member of a joint venture, has worked with MARTA to develop the city's rapid transit system. Since our initial feasibility analysis in 1962, PB has served as an integral part in the overall planning, design, project management, construction management, expansion and renovation of MARTA.
