Managing a Complex Project
|
PB served as environmental consultant, with responsibilities for project management, design, supervision, client representation and validation for the installation of the SEREBAR system. During the project, PB also performed site investigation, pilot/laboratory testing, hydrogeological and microbial investigation and conceptual design. The project's major challenges included managing a large team of industrial and academic personnel, investigation and remediation of an operational gas distribution center, avoiding damage to underground services, contractor guidance and commissioning the groundwater treatment system. Led by Project Manager Jaime Robinson, the project was completed on schedule.
PB's SEREBAR system provided SPH with a sustainable, cost-effective solution that enabled the firm to manage risk while maintaining operations at the site. The system is significantly reducing groundwater contamination and is well below the UK Environment Agency's groundwater quality limits. SEREBAR is the only application of this type of permeable reactive barrier in the world.
