| From design to operations |
PB provided overall leadership for TKE Contract 601—including
project management, project controls and quality assurance—and
was responsible for the completion of 50 percent of the civil/structural
design efforts and all of the building services efforts for
the contract. The PB-led consortium of international consultants
performed multiple services, including:
- station planning
- architectural, civil/structural, geotechnical and building
services design
- systemwide coordination
- integration with adjacent property developments
- safety and systems assurance
- cost management and control
- government approvals
- tender packaging and support
- technical assistance during construction
Additional PB services included construction planning, constructibility
reviews and value engineering; and the preparation of projectwide
standard specification for building services. Experienced
transit architects from PB’s U.S. offices were employed
to complete peer reviews of the station planning and architectural
design. PB also provided subconsultant building services design
for TKE Contract 602, Tseung Kwan O and Tiu Keng Leng Stations.
