PB has the full capability to perform cost estimating at any point
during project design and at any level of required detail. PB can
apply current local construction cost data applicable to produce
accurate estimates of cost and—given early planning data—can
evaluate project budgets.
During design development, cost estimation
often occurs in conjunction with constructibility
reviews and alternative studies, which are
usually conducted at the 30, 60, and 90%
design completion levels. As the design develops,
estimate accuracy can be refined.
PB has estimators with experience in all
construction divisions and with up-to-date
knowledge of current building systems and
practices. We routinely use computer-based
systems to facilitate the development of
costs by component—such as labor, materials,
equipment—by building system and by
area or floor.
Our cost estimating capabilities extend
into the solicitation and construction phases
as well. We routinely perform bid evaluations,
review of contractor cost breakdowns and
estimates for change order work.
