We apply leading-edge GIS technologies on a wide variety of environmental
tasks in support of infrastructure, design,
construction, operation and maintenance, planning, and the environment.
Our
GIS projects range from analyzing comprehensive
transportation plans for counties to developing
statewide transportation plans and analyzing
the feasibility of interstate, high-speed
rail corridors for the federal government.
We utilize GIS to analyze and display transportation
needs in relation to relevant
land use and growth
attributes.
PB also conducts environmental constraints
analysis and evaluation of corridors
using various federal, state, and local environmental
databases, large-scale aerial photography,
satellite imagery, global positioning
systems (GPS), and light detection and ranging
(LIDAR).
Some of our GIS services in support
of the environment include: remote sensing
and image processing, programming and
application development, database development
and maintenance,
as well as field data collection and
mapping. Our long history of utilizing
GIS for the
environment includes:
- Environmental impact and compliance
studies
- Site investigations and characterizations
- Transportation/telecommunication site,
route, and corridor selection
- Natural
resource inventory and management assessments
- Emergency planning and monitoring
- Water
and power plant site selection
